Luke Callaghan is a NAATI-certified Auslan/English interpreter based in regional NSW, providing professional video remote interpreting services.

When not interpreting, through self-directed systematic investigation and drawing on five decades managing severe allergies, Luke has become his own advocate, specialist and documentarian, using narrative essays, timelines, scientific rationale and the unexpected to explore the complexities of allergies and environmental sensitivities.

The Canary in the Coalmine is the foundation — an ongoing series of investigative reports, biological frameworks, first-person accounts and stories examining allergic disease, medical history and the gaps in how both are understood and treated.
